Burnes Legacy: 1.0
Since I'm having a lot of fun with my Sims Medieval Legacy, and since the computer which runs it is currently in use for Dragon Age II playtime by my boyfriend, I decided I'd spend my time on his computer (yes, we're nerds, thank you) trying out a real Sims 3 legacy. But, I wanted to do something a little different, and something a little challenging. So I'll be playing this legacy as if it's moving through time, from the 1890s to about 2010 or 2020. This will be a very generic move through time, please don't expect great historical accuracy--I'm going more for the general feel of the 20th century decades than getting everything right. I'll probably drag out each 20th century decade more than the late 19th century timeframe, mostly because it's far more difficult to ensure the screenshots don't have anything HUGELY out of period. Anyway, let's get started.

This is our founder, Ada Burnes.

She's a Technophobic, Frugal, Unlucky, Handy, Family-Oriented single woman in the 1890s, living in her parents' old home. Her LTW is, conveniently (how mysterious), to be surrounded by family.

Ada has a fish named Bernie. Hint: He doesn't last long.

Her hobbies are, uh, normal 1880s things, like riding bikes instead of cars...

...and dreaming of the day astronauts will finally be possible.

Whelp, time to go find a baby daddy. Run Ada, run!

Look! There's a fertile-looking male!

He doesn't seem to like Ada very much. But he's the only guy in 1880s-like clothing around, so...let's invite him to lunch. :D

Dash! Dash!

Speed dating commence! Let's invite him home for dinner, Ada.

...maybe not. Let's talk to him about romance, Ada.

Clearly something isn't working here.

FINALLY. Apparently Ethan here (and his name is Ethan) finds Ada's face utterly disgusting, because despite being of compatible signs, it took about half a day IRL to finally get in his pants.

Oh look, Ada's pregnant! I wonder how that happened. :D

Baby time! And random sneaking happens outside.

Oh look, a baby. Let's name her Rosemary. She's born with the Genius trait, and because I'm a dick, I give her a bit of Clumsiness on the side.

Birthday time!

Oh yeah, birthday. Where did everyone go? ADA???

Oh, you're eating modern food in the bathroom while your child grows up. Good to know.

Rosemary turns out kind of cute, even in her sad little patchwork overalls playing with her moldy teddybear.

Ada spends her entire maternity leave teaching Rosemary to walk, talk, and poop right.

Whelp, that brings us to about 1895. I'm trying to make these a lot shorter since there's a lot less novelty to keep people interested than with the Sims Medieval legacy. Let me know if you find anything jarring or wrong about the pacing, this is my first real/normal legacy. The archive will be kept at the top of the journal.

Yay. :D

It's going to be pretty rough around the edges until it gets around the 1920s or so, I'm not as familiar with culture at that time. :x

Do you know of any other historical-ish Sims stories? I'd love to read!
